It’s here! The second month of the year. So what did I knit in January?
A hat. A dead fish hat. That I have wanted forever! I hate it. Yep – hard to believe that I hate something funky and off beat, but I do. I hate it. Pattern is here. It has nothing to do with the colors or the knitting or anything that happened while knitting.
(and yes I know I need to clean the table – a little girl keeps writing on it)
I don’t like the shadow of the hat. That’s right, as ridiculous as it sounds, I don’t like the shadow of this hat, so I don’t wear it, won’t wear it, I’m giving it to an auction. (I only wore it about 3 times and have washed and blocked it since.) The shadow reminds me of one of those 1970s deep sea diving suits. The ones that have things on the side and top that stick out. I might have to put it on one more time and take a picture of the shadow – I don’t feel like I’m describing it well. So yeah, since I don’t like the shadow this hat is going to live somewhere else – lets just hope there is someone at this auction that likes funky hats.
I finished the mittens and ornaments I had (to keep the schedule) to knit for X-mas 2012.
I knit the wool pants I swapped with a friend for L’s pants.
I also have two works in progress.
I’m knitting another pair of wool pants – these for an auction too – for a little girls too (too?). These will also have ruffles, heat knees, and possible a heart on the bum. I’m at the split for the legs (hence the extra needle).

I’m knitting Arleen, found here, in Cestari. Remember the green yarn? It is going well so far. I’m past the back and forth of the top, so now it’s just in the round and should go quickly. I’m almost at the under arm, try-it-on, point.
Looking back it doesn’t seem like that much. Is this really ALL I accomplished in January? Humm, maybe it is a lot and I don’t realize it and have unrealistic expectations? Maybe somebody could actually COMMENT and let me know.
For now, the baby is up and demanding a clean diaper and some milk. I really wish I could knit and nurse this guy.
